📌 Overview

This project was the first in a series of training resources redesigned and developed for a post-COVID working environment. Transitioning from ILT to recorded virtual meetings and text-heavy decks was not a sustainable solution. This portfolio piece outlines the approach into eLearning designed for long-term and adaptable use.

🧩 The Challenge

The digital software and insurance space moves quickly and the need for up-to-date, user friendly training continues to grow. Much of the company's existing curriculum was out dated and required maintenance and updates reflective of the latest product capabilities.

✅ The Solution

Adapt and redesign curriculum that provides context for the company's industry-specific software platform in an on-demand format, allowing users to learn what they need when they need it.

🧠 Design Challenge

The outdated content resided in multiple formats and locations and did not include recent application updates. Much of the existing training content was created as a "quick fix" when the company unexpectedly transitioned from all in-person instructor-led to fully remote training. As the company's training initiatives have grown to include a philosophy of continuous learning with employees owning their learning, the new course designs needed to reflect that ideology. The result is succinct, approachable, open navigation self-paced courses that can be easily updated along with the company's growth.

The target audience for the course included 2,000+ insurance software employees and partners.

🛠 Tools Used and Development Process

In close partnership with P&C Claims subject matter experts, I led the development of a flexible learning experience built around open navigation. Together, we outlined targeted learning tracks that would support both new concept acquisition and just-in-time review of key functions within Majesco’s application.

The course was designed to be user-driven, allowing learners to move through foundational concepts and application-specific topics based on their individual needs and workflows. This approach prioritized learner autonomy and supported a range of use cases—from onboarding to on-the-job reinforcement.

To bring this experience to life, I used a suite of tools: Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Canva, Microsoft Excel

🎨 Course Redesign

This course redesign transformed a passive, time-consuming learning experience into a modern, interactive curriculum aligned with best practices in digital learning. Previously, learners were expected to sit through hours of instructor-led meeting recordings and parse through dense, text-heavy slide decks. The updated course now delivers content in a concise, engaging format that empowers learners to progress at their own pace—whether they’re onboarding or reinforcing existing knowledge.

The redesign focused on:

Reducing cognitive load by breaking down lengthy content into bite-sized, manageable modules
Enhancing interactivity with knowledge checks, drag-and-drop exercises, and guided exploration
Incorporating visual storytelling to simplify complex concepts and improve learner retention
Aligning the course with the company’s recent rebranding, ensuring a consistent and modern look across all visual elements

This shift not only improved the learner experience but also increased the course’s long-term scalability and relevance.

📝 Knowledge Checks

To reinforce learning and encourage real-world application, the course features strategically integrated knowledge checks throughout each module. These are not just assessments—they’re touch points designed to deepen understanding, prompt reflection, and build learner confidence.

Each check includes:

Scenario-based questions that mirror workplace situations
Targeted feedback that explains correct answers and clarifies misunderstandings
Progressive difficulty to challenge learners as they advance through the material

By embedding these interactions within the flow of content, learners are continuously engaged and better equipped to apply what they’ve learned directly to their roles.

📚 Learning Plan

The learning plan for this topic was intentionally structured into two distinct courses to support progressive knowledge building:

A prerequisite overview course (developed in Storyline) that introduces foundational industry concepts and terminology
An accompanying Mechanics Guide (developed in Rise) offering a deeper, hands-on exploration of the software application and its key features

This tiered approach ensures that learners first build context before diving into system-specific training—supporting both conceptual understanding and technical fluency.

While the course content itself is proprietary, the visuals and descriptions provided throughout this portfolio offer insight into the course structure, instructional strategy, and overall design approach used to develop this learning experience.
